You may remember that we did a juice cleanse a few months ago. Hundreds of you joined in and we supported each other throughout.
So, we’re about to do it again! This Wednesday 12th May 2010 sees us getting juicy with it. And I’d love you to jon in! In fact, I’m going to give you a really good reason to join in… CHOCOLATE!
Yes, there’s a little competition looming
All you need to do is comment on this blog post with your favourite juice recipe. Easy!
I’ll pick ONE recipe that encompasses our juice cleanse frenzy and send the winner a box of raw organic chocolates, 1 of each flavour. Closing date is UK midnight Wednesday 26th May. Competition is open worldwide and you don’t have to participate in the juice cleanse to enter the competition.
Getting juicy?
Feel free to use my facebook, twitter or blog comments for chatting with one another and general support. You can start now, and you can cleanse for as long as you want, though the support will be mainly there for ten days.
Some of your questions, answered
What do I drink?
Raw, organic, freshly juiced vegetables and fruit. I aim for 60% green vegetables (high on the celery), 30% non-sweet fruit (high on the cucumber) and 10% sweet fruit.
How much do I drink?
Aim for about 5 litres (about 5 quarts) of juice a day. Your size, activity level and metabolism will determine the exact amount you need. It may also vary over time.
Can I eat anything?
This isn’t a contest, it’s just for you to feel the benefits of supported juice cleansing. If you want to eat, too, then choose from the following if possible:
- chlorella tablets
- marine phytoplankton
- non-sweet fruit
- fresh smoothies
Can I drink anything else but juice?
Yes! As much fresh clean water and as many herbal teas as you want.
I’m working, how do I juice?
It does depend on the job you do, but you can juice enough to take in a flask to see you through. Juice that isn’t drank immediately can degrade, so consider adding a spoonful of ionic silver to it to prolong its life.
I’m pregnant or breastfeeding, can I do it?
I fasted for 7 days on water when I was pregnant (I didn’t know I was pregnant at the time) and so I know it’s not dangerous, but the choice has to be yours. Consider green smoothies instead of juices, and adding chia mylks to your menu. If you don’t feel right, stop the cleanse immediately. We have about 5 pregnant or breastfeeding mums on board, all doing a variation of the full juice cleanse to suit their needs.
What else should I do?
- You may feel cold while cleansing. Keep extra layers of clothes handy, and enjoy blankets and hot water bottles if you need them.
- Feel free to do a castor oil pack on your liver.
- You may want to take MSM and liquid zeolites to assist your cleanse.
- Have plenty of hot baths with salt, magnesium or epsom salts in.
- Go to bed early. Give thanks. Meditate. Love. This cleanse is a prayer in action.
- Exercise gently: walking, yoga, small weights and pilates.
- I personally will keep taking the supplements I take daily, vegan DHA and reishi extract being two of them.
That’s it?
Yes, that’s it. It’s simple. Juice as often as you like and as much as you like. If you feel hungry or weird, juice more. I’m really looking forward to doing this with you all, and am so glad we’re here to support each other.
Bliss U

We grow loads of Yacon in our community garden here in West Wales. Its soooo easy to grow & certainly anyone in the UK with a garden or allotment could easily do the same!

This one makes me feel very sensual, warm, and always makes me go “Oooh!” after the first sip, followed by a deep contented hum of satisfaction; 2 beets, 5 or 6 medium to large carrots, 4-5 cups spinach, 1 or 2 medium to large apples, 1 and 1/2 large cucumber, about an inch of ginger root, 2 celery stalks….after they’ve been juiced, I throw it in the blender with 2-3 tablespoons wheatgrass powder, 1 tsp blue-green algae or spirulina, 1/4 to 1 tsp etherium gold or red, and a dash cinammon….sometimes i may add a tablespoon of black seed oil but that’s highly highly optional as it does alter the taste
This is mainly a fruit juice drink, but it’s simply gorgeous. I’ve been drinking it all weekend sat out in old sunny England whilst my Chemivore friends drink their fizzy pop.
I love how hydrating and exotic it is.
Tropical Refresher:
Young thai Coconut Water, Pineapple, Mango, Lychees and Orange Juice.
(I often throw in lots of spinach and some passion fruit)
My current fave is:
1/2 pineapple
1 bunch dandelion leaves
4 stems of celery
1″ chunk of ginger root
Gorgeous:)
during my twin pregnancy, i started off mainly drinking fresh squeezed oj in the 1st trimester, then moved on to green smoothies in the second, coming towards the end of the third; frozen strawberries, a banana or two, lots of fresh mint, sprouted energy powder was my fav for a while. Now, at the very end, I am craving lemons and so juice lemons from my friend’s tree, freeze the pure juice in ice cubes, then add them to some fizzy water and a tsp of maple syrup first thing every morning. Delicious!
My favourite favourite juice that feels sooooo good as its going down is 1/4 watermelon, 1/2 cucumber, 2 sticks celery, a hint of ginger and about 5 or 6 strawberries – makes me feel lovely inside and out!
at the moment, I love just lemon juice, fizzy water and some agave or maple syrup
As simple as this:
Apples + nettles
Sweet, fresh and a little green
I like about half carrot, quarter apple and quarter orange juice with a good bit of lemon as well and some ginger. Really simple but really yummy!
My fav at the moment is celery, cucumber, green apple, mint, spinch, rocket and the water of a young coconut, its really refreshing!
1 cucumber
2-4 stalks celery
1/4 – 1/2 pineapple
4-8 strawberries
1/4 lime
1/4 lemon
1/2 large beetroot
spinach, chard, kale, sunflower sprouts, pea shoots or any combination of greens
Hi Shazzie!
My favourite juice recipe is the ABC juice.
Blend together apple, beetroot, and carrot to keep a clear complexion.
Cheers, Renee =)

Curried Beauty by Babette
Beet; cabbage; celery stalks; cucumber; garlic, one clove; ginger, one fat slice; onion, red (one slice); tomato; smidge, or to your liking of curry powder.
Ahhh.. so many intuitive combos to remember, but my absolute fav which i devoured daily whilst living in Oz, is water melon, with all the lovely cucumber-y skin, handfull of mint and a shot of fresh wheatgrass. Oh my gosh it’s soooo good! xxx
Pineapple and parsley is a good one
Apple and ginger is too
Apple, carrot and red cabbage also very nice!
The following is one of my favourite treats, I call it The Vegan Vampire for its beautiful deep red colour (my friends call it ‘goth juice’!).
I drink this 10 minutes before a rebounding session to give me some pizazz.
-6 blackberries
-half a large cucumber
-10 ripe cherries, stoned
-small handful of frozen raspberries
-4 large ‘Evie’ variety English strawberries
-generous handful of spinach or dandelion leaves
You can also add a small raw beetroot if you really want to make a rosy splash upside the kitchen units!
It is highly vibrant, energising and refreshing, and not too sweet, as the cucumber, greens and the sharpness of the blackberries take the edge off of it.
My sunshine in a glass (especially warming in winter):
oranges
carrots
apple
ginger (I like a lot, some people don’t!)
It cheered me up all winter long last year when I was cold and not having a great time in general
1 Bok choy
1/2 cucumber
1/2 red peper
1 beetroot
1 sweet potato
1 spring onion/green onion
2 wild garlic leaves/ clove garlic
1 celery stick
(3 cups of Yum! Yum!)
My favourite juice recipe, drum roll please….bag of spinach, bunch of parsley, golden apples, ginger, young thai coconut water, pinch of pink salt, tsp. msm, 1/2 tsp. e3Live. Holy smokes you are going to fly on this one! Love. Love.
I am not sure if more than one entry is allowed but for the love of chocolate I’ll take the risk ;D
This juice is so rich and decadent it’s a dessert detox if ever there was one and its a tonic for women~ we like HAPPY HORMONES:
QUEEN OF LONGEVITY
2 Sweet potatoes
pinch of nutmeg
Juice, pinch and SWOON xoxShakaya
Whenever I juice-fast I’d make myself this tasty juice made of tomatoes, garlic, onion, celery, cilantro, cucumber, carrots, red and green bell peppers, and some spinach. It’s so savory it can double as raw vegetable broth too!
I love this liver juice tonic. I use to do it everyday and it kept my skin clear and radiant and my mood bright and chipper.
1 bunch dandelion
1 whole cucumber cut into 4 long planks
juice of 1 lemon
2-3 stalks celery
1 chunk of burdock root
1 chunk of ginger root
anything wild, nettles, grass, whatever you can find
and mint.
my favorite:
2 dates
1 banana
half a bundle of parsley
water
sometimes I add a handful of goji berries.
Large handful of spinach, flesh of one ripe mango, blend. Add a little fresh water if necessary to get the desired consistency. Very bright green and refreshing.
My favorite, first thing in the morning or post run juice,at the moment:
-bunch of fresh harvested nettles
-bunch of fresh pine needles
-beetroot
-carrots
-lemon
-small piece of ginger
sprinkle with raw spirulina
electrifying!
Nettles and Red Grape! I put it in the juicer and it gets all fluffy and jammy!!!
I have tons so its hard to choose just one! Fennel and ginger, mint and lime- it’s pure ecstacy and fit for an Empress xox
Hi Shazzie!
I’ve tried many juices lately. Here’s my favorite:

Purple grapes, a large bunch

You can play around and see if you want more or less lemon and apple. My 27 year old son who is not into raw at all, says it’s the best juice he’s ever had
