What they sayHere are some of the comments I've had about my web site. If you would like to send a comment, please email us, though I can't guarantee it will go on here.
Dear Shazzie Hi. Last night I discovered your awesome web site and devoured your journals. I love your energy, optimism, and vitality, all of which can be seen from your words. I'm just getting into raw so I enjoyed reading about your transformation and at the same time imagining my metamorphosis. Visualizing where I'll be in a year or two! It's thrilling and invigorating! Rachel J. Johnson, author of "Wake up Running"
Hello Shazzie! My name is Amanda Waldner and I have visited your site almost every day for about eight months now. I have been so meaning to drop a line, but just haven't done it! Your site is beautiful and so well done! You are very talented and have created something very wonderful there -- kinda like a get-a-way. You allow people into your life and in turn you are truly blessed with talent. I also bought your detox delights and think it is great! I am working on a recipe book of my own, though it will be a bit different. But it is exciting to be traveling a road that is making such a difference in so many people's lives. When wanting to create a web site of my own, the first name I tried to register was rawcreation.com but I saw it was taken and so had to try something else. My site is rawesome.com and will hopefully be up and running by January some time. I am about 90 - 95% raw (eating flour tortilla's with my veggie wrap is about the only thing I eat that isn't raw) and am loving it! I am feeling better and better all the time. Your story was wonderful and encouraging for me, just as Tasha's was. Thank you for sharing! I just got my sprouter and dehydrator for Nature's first law, and am ready to make my first batch of Essene bread. I think that will help me make the final transition. Very excited! Just bought the book RAW PERFECTION! Can't seem to put it down, it is one of the most awesome books I have ever read in my life! I plan to read it until I know it like the back of my hand. Anyway, I am just going on and on here and really just wanted to say
"hello" and "thank you" for your site! I look forward
to hopefully meeting you one day! If I was to talk to anyone else about
you and they were to ask what you were like. Though I have never met you
I think I could describe you just from what I have seen and read on your
site. "You are a bright and sunny personality who likes to have fun
and be free! You are full of love and caring for others, and that flows
from you like a flood! You are a reacher of the stars and they bless you!" I made your pizza crust with walnuts instead of grain an it worked out fabulously. That's one of the top 3 requested recipes among my friends and family by the way. "We want Shazzie's pizza", they say! I don't get any credit at all. LOL Aria, USA Dear ShazzieI would like to thank you for sharing your heart and soul through your raw transformation journal. I have been trying to make the transition to a living foods diet for three years now but it has been a struggle. Then I stumbled upon your website through Nature's First Law's website. Through reading your journal and seeing your transformation pictures it has helped me to stay on the path. Every time I am tempted to eat cooked food I just read from your journal and it helps me to stay on the path. Your honesty and sense of humor and truly gifts, although obviously not the only gifts you possess. I would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to stay on this path, which I new I wanted to take ever since I read, Nature's First Law: The Raw Food Diet, and for getting my daughter's attention. After she saw your transformation photos and Nora's all she could say was, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. I'm going raw this summer." She wants to help me try new recipes so there are more that she enjoys. As she told me, "Mom I can't just live on guacamole and hummus." Everyone keeps telling me that my skin is glowing and how great I look. Thanks, and don't stop sharing. Doreen, USA

A couple of months ago in my local health store an English lady had difficulties
in getting the Danish owner of the store understand what she wanted. I
translated and was a bit amazed as to why someone would want to buy sprouted
grains, when they taste so good cooked. She bought a sprouter after telling
me that you could even sprout almonds! Hmm -- strange woman!
Being a vegetarian on and off for years I wanted to start eating vegan, and therefore searched the net for nutritional information and recipes. Finding only one Danish vegan site, I started looking abroad, found your site and suddenly was able to understand that English sprouting woman! I read your site all evening, looked quickly through some of living-foods.com and went raw.
That´s two weeks ago, the cravings are for sour bread, but I'm stronger than that! And besides, the benefits of raw are way too many to give in.
Somewhere I read how you don't get sun burned anymore, and today at a
Danish site about nutrition I read, that that's due to the caratenoids,
pro vitamin A in its many forms, as they work as sun filter, both in plants
and humans.
Thank you for your site, it is inspiring and encouraging and you seem like a wonderful, genuine person.
(See how your work with setting up and maintaining your site gives water
to a seed for so many people like an all-facts site couldn't.)
I wish you all the best,
I was just introduced to your web site and I think it's great. I applaud your being so open and honest about your journey. I'm sure you have helped more people than you can even realize!
I have been a vegetarian for one year. One by one, my body has been cutting out foods for me. One day I just couldn't digest meat, then processed foods, etc. I am now on my way towards being a vegan, and I am trying to eat at least one totally raw meal per day. I've ordered the book you recommended and look forward to reading it. I feel inspired! (Your web site and your honesty were the perfect inspiration and catalyst for me to start my raw journey.)
Love,
Since writing this, Kristina is moving to lovely warm Florida, and is now eating 75% raw. The Universe is really showing her the good stuff in life!
Just discovered your web site and it's great! You look gorgeous in both your before and after pictures, but of course the after ones shine the brightest.
Peace and Blessings,
I'm not sure if you'll remember me, but we met briefly at that fantastic Rawfood Party at Sundance last year.
At the time I'd been raw for about three weeks, and felt that amazing high that you can only really comprehend by actually being raw. Going to the raw party was the most incredible experience: there were all these people that had been raw for years, and my fledgling raw mind expected them to be really scary and intimidating. How far from the truth could I have been?
Instead, I felt like I had come home. Every new person I talked to was like a really good friend I'd known for years and had inexplicably forgotten about until then. And the food! We were warned by the creators of this feast of the effects of love food, but I had no idea how good it would make me feel.
So, I remember talking to you about Spain (I was planning to relocate there at the time) and you saying that even a tenuous grasp of the language was sufficient ("Dos kilos tomates, por favor") which was very funny, and very true.
Since the raw food party, I have been through (how to put this) a very challenging set of life experiences during which I went from 100% raw to almost 100% cooked, exchanged my high and happy state for one of partial despair and sorrow, my toned and healthy raw body for a bloated parody of myself, all the time knowing that I had had something truly beautiful in my grasp and let it go.
I have, for the last six months, halfheartedly been eating a bit of fruit here, the odd salad there, and hoping that I'll get back on the path. I'd fallen into a very 'cooked' way of thinking: "It's so hard to be raw, I'm hopelessly addicted to cooked food, I've got no support, my life is impossible..." etc etc.
And then, by some amazing serendipity, I searched for raw food web sites, and yours was one of the first to come up. And by even more wonderful synchronicity, the first page that the search engine has linked to was the pictures of the Raw Food party that I had been to what seemed like eons ago.
As I looked at the pictures and read the captions, it all came flooding back to me...the joyous celebration... the holding hands and giving thanks for the food... the beautiful evening... the feeling of family.. the getting of some of the best hugs I'd ever had in my life... the intoxicating feeling of a group of people laughing together.
I even appear in one of the photos (albeit at the background): if you look at the picture of the food, there's a shadowy figure standing to the right with a star on her t-shirt, and that's me (yes, I was very eager to get stuck in!).
So to the point of this email: thank you, thank you, thank you for this wonderful website. You have helped me to remember that the path to being raw may have its ups and downs, but that it's also a joyous, exciting, life-changing and light-filled journey where each day brings its own rewards. From moping around with little purpose and less energy I have now remembered who I am, and who I was always meant to be.
So thank you again for providing a beacon. I'm looking forward to adding my transformation photos to your web site in the not-too-distant future.
Hope we speak again soon, and until then, hope you are as happy and well as you were at that party.
Much love and good wishes,
I've visited your site off and on many times for your raw food journal and other articles and they have helped to keep me centered on my raw food journey this past year and a half though I find I still want something cooked on the odd occassion.(sushi rolls, couscous salad, the rare bag of cheesies).
Anyways I've done a lot of herbal colonic cleansing myself over the last 4 years and back in July the fellow at the health food store that I deal with suggested that I try out the aerobic oxygen as a way of detoxing and cleansing my body .(yes I tryied colonics a couple of times--passed gas, mucus)The aerobic oxygen works like a gem.It goes after the nasties-like toxins, chemicals(from food that may not have all gotten washed off),"bugs"that may be in your food or water, etc.,and also cleans out the accumulated mucous and plaque in your body and colon. And it has also been helping to flush out the old cholesteral fat that a woman gets trapped in her derrier and thigh area a whole lot more swiftly than just the high raw diet and herbal colonic cleansing were doing and you can imagine how happy that makes me as I've always had "fat" legs even when I would weigh around 115 pounds. I'm down to 108 right now and curious to see what happens next with the aerobic oxygen.I still have a ways to go before all the fat is flushed out of my system and my thighs.
Wish me luck, Bless you and best wishes
I'm SO glad I found your site! Finally, some real INSPIRATION to go raw!
You are a beautiful person! You give me something to strive for - someday,
I'd like to be just like you! Well, the American version of you, anyway.
Not only am I going to go raw, but I'm going to inspire others too! Well,
that's my dream right now anyway. One step at a time though, first I need
to go raw!
I've been looking into the raw food movement for months and by complete
accident stumbled across your website. It's a pity more Americans can't
see it, since I find it so inspiring!
Thanks again for all the inspiration!
It is my mission to help as many human and animal clients as possible to attain the level of radiant health that is all of our birthright! Like Shazzie, I have personally overome numerous health problems from chronic low back pain/sciatica, depression, fibromyaliga, food/chemical allergies/sensitivities, candida, and more. The ONLY thing that worked for me (in addition to living an all 'round natural/holistic lifestyle) was adopting a raw food diet! I have also rescued many sick dogs and cats over the past 8 years, raised them on a home-prepared raw diet (using other holistic care regimens like homeopathy, when necessary) and watched them ALL transform into beautiful healthy animals!
I am completely devoted to the living foods lifestyle and helping others, as I have witnessed the power of living foods myself. I have always loved Shazzie's site and have been following her "story" over the past few years. I think that this "movement" could use more inspiring "raw" women, as Shazzie has been over past few years. (Evie is beautiful by the way :)
Peace and Love.
I came across your web page today and I have to say it is very inspiring. I saw the photos and read the journals that brought tears to my eyes. My name is Freda and Im a 23 year old woman from California. I have struggled with my weight since I was 15 and now seeing that this "heard of" diet is real, I am going to try it. Right now I am 5'4 and 168lbs with a 40DD chest. I can't wait to see my results. Thankyou for posting this site Shazzie.
